Installation
Every SLR is designed to be buried in the snow and withstand
the abuse of the elements and the abuse of its users. It
is dependant on you as to how well they are used and maintained.
Below is a basic guideline for installing and maintaining
your SLR.
- All SLR’s require a minimal depth burial depth of
8” of packed frozen snow, usually up to the bottom
skirting bar.
- Every rail/box should be placed on a platform of snow
allowing you to shape a transition on all side and front
areas of the landing
- All rails/boxes should have a landing pitch on the downhill
side of your SLR.
- All on ramps should be piled up to the lowest sliding section
of the rail/box
- Keep on ramps mellow and wide. Back dragging the ramp works
best to keep square and form during cat maintenance.
- Due to changing weather conditions and nightly maintenance,
daily inspection of your SLR is highly recommended.
- Always reset your SLR if it lacks stability or leans in
warmer conditions.
- Separate your SLR’s to accommodate inrun and runout.
- Always close or remove the SLR rail/box if it encounters
cat damage to any part of the item.
- When storing your SLR, inside is always the best. If not
inside be sure to spread a liberal coating of lubricant
on the sliding surface of your rail/box to withstand rust
and the elements better.
- To keep your SLR in top condition be sure to repaint skirting
(aluminum does not apply) and coping annually.
